Principal Engineer - Eventbrite

Andrew is a Python developer most known for his work on Django - including South, Django Migrations, and Channels - as well as a variety of other open-source projects. He works at Eventbrite as a Principal Engineer, helping to lead Site Reliability Engineering.

When he’s not writing open source or travelling around the world speaking about it, he enjoys flying light aircraft, archery, electronics, and developing games.

We'll look back in history, at the origins of software engineering, and how some of the pioneers of our field not only invented real-time programming, but also saved the moon landing in the process - and how their work lives on in true life-critical software engineering, and what we can learn from it.
